The Cypress CY8CMBR2016-24LQXI is a dedicated capacitive button controller from the CapSense® Express™ family, designed to offload touch-sensing from a system MCU. The supply voltage range spans 1.71V to 5.5V, covering 3.3V and 5V logic rails as well as single-cell Li-ion down to near-depletion. Sixteen capacitive inputs cover a typical appliance or industrial keypad — numeric pad, navigation cluster, dedicated function keys. The matching 16 LED driver channels mean each button can have its own backlight or status LED without external transistors or a separate LED controller. This integration collapses what would otherwise be an MCU with firmware, a touch IC, and an LED driver into a single configurable device.
