Before a transmitted signal reaches its antenna, it passes through at least one RF amplifier. Low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) pull weak signals out of the noise floor at the receiver front end; power amplifiers (PAs) drive the final stage before the antenna; and gain blocks provide flat, broadband amplification across the signal chain. Engineers specify frequency range, gain, noise figure, P1dB compression point, IP3 linearity, and supply voltage.
