160 MHz CMOS fanout buffer for clock distribution
The Renesas 551MILFT is a single-circuit, 1:4 fanout buffer from the ClockBlocks™ family. It takes one CMOS input and delivers four CMOS outputs, with a maximum frequency of 160 MHz. The supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V lets it sit on either a 3.3V or 5V rail without a level shifter. The non-differential I/O (CMOS in, CMOS out) makes it a straight drop-in for single-ended clock trees in industrial control, telecom, and data-acquisition systems where you need to distribute a reference clock to multiple loads without loading the source.
Industrial temperature range and package
Rated for -40°C to 85°C, this part covers the industrial temperature grade — suitable for factory-floor controllers, outdoor telecom cabinets, and HVAC systems that see ambient extremes but not under-hood automotive heat. The 8-SOIC package (0.154" body width, 3.90 mm) is a standard footprint that routes easily on two-layer boards. Surface-mount assembly with no exposed pad means no thermal-via planning; just standard decoupling at the supply pin.
Active lifecycle — no LTB pressure
The 551MILFT carries an Active product status per the manufacturer, with ROHS3 compliance. For a BOM line that needs a stable clock-buffer source, this part does not carry the obsolescence risk that older logic families sometimes do. Store the reels dry — standard MSL handling applies, though the specific level is not listed here.
