Package and board-fit story
The KP234XTMA1 comes in an 8-SMD module (DSOF8-16 package) with SMD (SMT) tab termination — no port, just a surface-mount pressure inlet on the module body. The tab is the mechanical anchor and the thermal path; the board layout needs a solid copper pour under the module to pull heat away from the sensing element, especially during reflow.
What does a 5.8–16.68 PSI range mean for fit?
5.8 PSI to 16.68 PSI (40 kPa to 115 kPa) covers the full atmospheric pressure envelope from high-altitude driving (Denver at ~12 PSI) up to sea-level storms (~16 PSI). The absolute pressure type means it reads against vacuum, not gauge — the output voltage of 1.33 V to 4.7 V maps linearly across this span, so a 5 V ADC on the ECU can resolve roughly 0.02 PSI per LSB at 10-bit.
The sensor sits on the engine bay wall or inside the ECU housing and still delivers calibrated output through a hot soak after shutdown.
