Fixed 8.5 V rail with automotive-grade protection
The IFX25001TC is a single-output positive LDO regulator from Infineon, delivering a fixed 8.5 V output at up to 400 mA. Input voltage tolerance extends to 40 V, so the part survives 12 V system load dumps and 24 V truck battery rails without an external clamp. Protection circuits for overcurrent, overtemperature, reverse polarity, and short circuit are integrated, reducing external component count.
PSRR and quiescent current for always-on loads
Power supply rejection ratio is 60 dB at 100 Hz — this attenuates rectified alternator ripple or DC-DC switching ripple by a factor of 1000 at that frequency, keeping the output clean for sensitive loads like CAN transceivers or analog sensor front-ends. The low Iq suits always-on modules in body controllers or gateway ECUs where the regulator stays powered even when the system sleeps.
TO-263 package and thermal layout
Housed in a TO-263-4 (D2Pak) surface-mount package with three leads plus the exposed tab (PG-TO263-3-1 supplier designation). Output is fixed 8.5 V; no external resistor divider needed. The single regulator channel and positive output configuration simplify the bill of materials for a dedicated 8.5 V rail.
