A single BTS4880RAUMA1 replaces eight discrete MOSFETs or four dual-channel switches, saving board area and reducing component count.
Built-in fault handling reduces external circuitry
The BTS4880RAUMA1 integrates current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping. A status flag output signals a fault condition to the microcontroller. The auto-restart feature means the switch re-enables after an over-temperature event cools down, which is useful for intermittent overloads like lamp inrush or stalled motors. No external Vcc supply is needed — the switch is self-biased from the load voltage. Input-to-output ratio is 1:1, so each input pin directly controls one output channel.
