Product details

High-side switch for 12V and 24V loads

The Infineon BSP742RXUMA1 is a single-channel high-side power switch from the miniPROFET® family, designed to drive resistive, inductive, and lamp loads in automotive and industrial systems. It integrates an N-channel power MOSFET with a 250 mOhm typical Rds(on) and delivers up to 400 mA continuous output. The switch operates from a 5V to 34V load supply, covering 12V and 24V nominal rails with headroom for load-dump transients. Input is non-inverting with a simple On/Off interface; no external Vcc supply is needed — the gate drive is self-supplied from the load voltage.

Fault protection set for robust operation

Built-in fault protection covers current limiting (fixed), open load detection, overtemperature shutdown, and overvoltage clamping. The overtemperature protection is a key feature for high-ambient or stalled-load conditions — the die shuts off before junction damage, then auto-restarts when it cools. Open load detection flags a disconnected harness, useful for lamp-out or solenoid-integrity diagnostics. The fixed current limit prevents excessive inrush during capacitive or cold-filament turn-on.

Temperature grade and package

Thermal dissipation is limited by the small copper area — at 400 mA continuous, the 250 mOhm Rds(on) dissipates 40 mW, but derating is needed if ambient exceeds 105°C or if the PCB lacks adequate copper pour. The package is ROHS3 compliant.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy BSP742RXUMA1 and how do I get a price?

Submit an RFQ to receive a current price quote and confirmed availability. No stock or price figures are published on this page.

Does BSP742RXUMA1 have overtemperature protection?

Yes, overtemperature protection is included as part of the fault protection set. The device shuts off when the junction exceeds the thermal threshold, protecting against overload or high-ambient conditions.
