I²C isolator with integrated power — what it saves on the BOM
The ADM3260ARSZ is an Analog Devices I²C digital isolator from the IsoPower® and iCoupler® families. It integrates an isolated DC-DC converter on-chip, so a separate isolated power module is not needed — a real BOM simplification for multi-board I²C links that need galvanic isolation. Two bidirectional channels handle the SDA and SCL lines, and the magnetic coupling technology delivers 2500Vrms isolation in a 20-SSOP package.
The supply range spans 3V to 5.5V, covering both 3.3V and 5V I²C buses without a level translator. Common-mode transient immunity is rated at 25kV/µs minimum, which keeps the data path clean in inverter-fed environments where fast switching edges couple common-mode noise across the isolation barrier.
The IsoPower series has a long production history at Analog Devices, and the iCoupler platform is a mature, widely second-sourced isolation technology.
Package and mounting — 20-SSOP, surface-mount
Housed in a 20-SSOP package (0.209" body width, 5.30mm), this is a standard surface-mount footprint that reflows on a typical lead-free profile.
