Package and Rework Considerations
The SOD-128 flat package (SOD128Flat) is a low-profile surface-mount package with a large exposed cathode pad on the bottom. The pad layout follows the standard SOD-128 footprint; the flat leads are coplanar with the package body, which reduces tombstoning risk during reflow. For rework, the exposed pad conducts heat into the board quickly — preheat the PCB to 100–120°C before hot-air removal, and use a wide nozzle (10 mm or larger) to heat the pad evenly. The cathode mark is a chamfered corner on the package body; pin 1 is the anode on the opposite side. The part ships in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) formats, compatible with standard pick-and-place. The flat leads mean the solder fillet is visible only from the side — inspect the joint angle under magnification to confirm wetting on the lead face.
