The STMicroelectronics FERD30SM100DJFTR is a 100 V, 30 A Field Effect Rectifier Diode (FERD) in a PowerFlat 5x6 surface-mount package. The FERD structure delivers a forward voltage of 970 mV at 30 A, lower than a standard Schottky of equivalent die size, which directly cuts conduction loss in output rectifiers and OR-ing diodes.

Recovery profile and switching loss

Rated as a fast recovery diode with recovery time ≤ 500 ns at forward current > 200 mA — this is the parametric bound for switching loss in continuous-conduction-mode PFC or LLC converters.

The PowerFlat 5x6 (8-PowerVDFN) is a leadless package with an exposed pad. The 5x6 mm body keeps the PCB footprint compact for 30 A routing.
