1200 V, 30 A standard recovery diode for automotive power stages
The STMicroelectronics STBR3012G2Y-TR is a standard recovery rectifier rated for a 1200 V blocking voltage and 30 A average forward current, housed in the D2PAK HV surface-mount package.
Forward drop and thermal budget at full load
The D2PAK HV package's large copper tab is designed to pull that heat into the PCB copper plane; the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance depends heavily on the pad area and copper thickness. Nominal is not absolute max — the 175 °C junction limit is the hard ceiling, and the designer should run the steady-state thermal simulation with the actual ambient and airflow. Reverse leakage is specified at 2 µA at 1200 V, which is negligible at room temperature but rises with junction temperature — a consideration for very-light-load or standby power dissipation in the off-state.
ROHS3 compliance and the ECOPACK®2 halogen-free moulding compound are standard.
Package and footprint notes for the D2PAK HV
The D2PAK HV (TO-263-3, 2 leads plus tab) is a surface-mount package with a large exposed drain/collector tab.
