The STB30N65DM6AG is an automotive-grade N-channel power MOSFET from STMicroelectronics' MDmesh™ DM2 series, rated for 650 V drain-to-source voltage and 28 A continuous drain current at 25 °C case temperature. The device is housed in a TO-263 (D2PAK) surface-mount package, which offers a good thermal path to the PCB and is hand-solderable with reasonable care.

Temperature range and thermal budget

The junction temperature range spans -55 to 150 °C, covering the full automotive temperature envelope. Maximum power dissipation is 223 W at the case, but that figure assumes an ideal heatsink — real-world dissipation will be lower and depends on PCB copper area and airflow.
