Galvanically isolated CAN transceiver for automotive and industrial buses
The NXP TJA1052IT/5Y is a galvanically isolated CAN transceiver that integrates capacitive coupling to provide 5000Vrms isolation between the CAN bus and the controller side. It supports data rates up to 5Mbps, making it suitable for CAN FD networks that need higher throughput than classic 1Mbps CAN. The part is AEC-Q100 qualified and rated for -40°C to 125°C, covering under-hood automotive and industrial environments where wide temperature swings are the norm. A single unidirectional channel with 1/1 input/output configuration keeps the signal path clean for standard CAN or CAN FD frames.
Supply range and 3.3V compatibility
The supply range spans 3V to 5.25V, so the part works directly on a 3.3V CAN bus without a level shifter. Many modern MCUs run their CAN controller at 3.3V, and this isolator matches that rail on both sides.
