It replaces a handful of 74-series logic with one instant-on, non-volatile part — no boot time, no configuration memory. The 10 ns propagation delay (tpd) means the combinatorial path from input to registered output settles in under one 100 MHz clock period — fast enough for address decoding, state machines, and bus arbitration in 5 V systems.
