Product details

30 mOhm dual high-side switch for 5–28 V loads

The BTS50302EKAXUMA1 is a dual-channel N-channel high-side power switch from Infineon's PROFET® series, built to switch resistive, inductive, or lamp loads on the high side of a 5 V to 28 V supply rail. Each output delivers up to 4 A continuous, and the typical on-resistance of 30 mOhm keeps conduction losses low enough that the exposed-pad SOIC-14 package can shed the heat without forced air.

Protection set — what survives a fault

Fault protection covers the four failure modes a power switch sees in a real harness: fixed current limiting clamps the output during a short circuit, open-load detection flags a broken wire downstream, over-temperature shutdown saves the die if the load current pushes the junction past the limit, and over-voltage clamping absorbs transients on the battery line. The Auto Restart feature means the switch re-tries after a thermal fault, which keeps a motor-driven load from latching off permanently after a stall event. The exposed pad on the PG-DSO-14-40-EP package must be soldered to a board copper plane to keep the junction below the 150 °C ceiling at full 4 A load.

Frequently asked questions

What is the BTS50302EKAXUMA1 used for?

It switches resistive, inductive, or lamp loads on the high side of a 5 V to 28 V supply. Typical applications include automotive body electronics (lights, relays, small motors), industrial PLC outputs, and general-purpose power distribution where a microcontroller's On/Off signal controls a 4 A load.
