The Infineon BTS441RGATMA1 is a single-channel PROFET high-side power switch in a PG-TO263-5-2 package (D²Pak, 4 leads plus tab). It switches a general-purpose load on the high side with a 1:1 input-to-output ratio, controlled by a simple On/Off interface with a non-inverting input. The 15 mOhm typical Rds(on) sets the conduction loss floor: at 10 A, that is 1.5 W dissipation, which the exposed tab on the TO263-5 package must sink to the board copper. The load voltage range spans 4.75 V to 43 V, covering nominal 12 V and 24 V automotive and industrial rails with margin for load-dump transients. Maximum continuous output current is 17 A, limited by package thermal capability at the operating temperature.
Fault protection set — what is included and what is not
The Status Flag output signals fault conditions to the microcontroller, so the ECU firmware can log or react to a shorted load or thermal trip. Note there is no auto-restart feature — the latch-off behaviour after a fault requires a power cycle or toggle of the input to reset. For designs needing automatic retry, a sibling with auto-restart would be a different selection.
The 150°C TJ max aligns with AEC-Q100 Grade 0 requirements, though the evidence does not list an explicit AEC-Q number. The wide temperature range also suits industrial motor drives and outdoor telecom power distribution where the enclosure sees solar loading.
Without adequate copper area, the 17 A rating is thermally limited at high ambient.
ROHS3 compliant per the evidence.
