Single-channel high-side switch for 12 V / 24 V loads
The BTS500801TMAATMA1 is a single-channel high-side power switch from Infineon's PROFET series, designed to drive resistive, inductive, and lamp loads on 12 V or 24 V rails. Its 7 mOhm typical on-resistance keeps conduction losses low at the 9.5 A maximum continuous output, which matters when the PCB copper area or ambient temperature limits the thermal budget. The switch operates from a 5.5 V to 38 V load supply and requires no separate Vcc supply — the gate drive is self-supplied from the load voltage. This simplifies the BOM by eliminating a charge-pump or bootstrap circuit.
Fault protection and operating range
These protections are self-contained — no external sense resistor or comparator is needed, which saves board space and reduces component count on the BOM. The TO-220-7 package with a large exposed tab helps conduct heat to the heatsink or PCB copper plane.
