Product details

The BTS500801TEAAUMA1 is a single-channel high-side power switch from Infineon's PROFET® family, built around an N-channel MOSFET with a typical on-resistance of 8 mOhm. It switches a load voltage from 5.5 V to 30 V and delivers up to 10 A continuous output current — the 8 mOhm Rds(on) keeps conduction losses low enough that the TO-252-5 package can dissipate the heat without forced airflow in many automotive and industrial loads.

Protection and operating envelope

The device integrates fixed current limiting, open-load detection, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping — a full protection suite that lets it survive shorted loads and inductive kickback without external clamp diodes in many cases. The auto-restart feature means after a fault clears the switch re-enables itself — useful for lamp loads where the inrush current trips the protection on cold start, then the switch recovers without a system reset.

The On/Off interface is non-inverting with a 1:1 input-to-output ratio, and no separate Vcc supply is needed — the load voltage powers the internal charge pump, so the switch works with a single supply rail.
