The Infineon BTS3035TFATMA1 is a single-channel low-side N-channel power switch from the HITFET® family, designed for driving resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads in automotive and industrial environments. It switches the load to ground with a typical on-resistance of 30 mOhm, handling up to 5 A continuous current and a maximum load voltage of 40 V. The built-in fault protection — fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping — lets it survive short circuits and load dump without external clamp diodes. The TO-252-3 (DPak) package with a single tab for heatsinking suits compact PCB layouts where board space is tight.
At 5 A, the 30 mOhm typical on-resistance produces conduction loss. The BTS142DATMA1 has 23 mOhm typical Rds(on).
The ROHS3 compliance is current. If you need a datasheet for qualification review, the Infineon HITFET® series documentation covers this part under base number BTS3035.
Mounting and thermal notes
Surface-mount to a TO-252-3 (DPak) footprint. The center tab is the drain connection and the primary heat path — solder it to a copper pour on the PCB. The PG-TO252-3-313 supplier package code matches the standard DPak land pattern. No external Vcc supply is needed; the gate is driven directly by the logic-level On/Off input (non-inverting). The Auto Restart feature means the switch will attempt to re-close after a fault condition clears, which is useful for driving lamps or solenoids that see inrush.
