The BTS3018TCATMA1 is a single-channel low-side N-channel power switch from Infineon's HITFET® family, rated for 6 A continuous output at a typical on-resistance of 18 mOhm. It switches general-purpose resistive, inductive, or lamp loads up to 60 V. The input is a simple On/Off logic signal (non-inverting) — no external Vcc supply needed, so it works directly from a microcontroller GPIO. Output configuration is low-side, meaning the load connects between the positive supply and the switch drain, and the switch sinks current to ground.
Fault protection and temperature range — why the BOM gets simpler
Built-in fault protection includes fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping. That 150 °C ceiling suits under-hood automotive, industrial motor drives, and outdoor telecom enclosures. The 6 A rating holds across the full range as long as the package thermal resistance is managed.
