Product details

Low-side switch for 12 V and 24 V loads — what it does

The Infineon BSP76E6433HUMA1 is a single-channel, low-side N-channel power switch from the HITFET® family. It switches a grounded load — a relay coil, solenoid, incandescent lamp, or small DC motor — up to 1.4 A continuous from a supply rail rated to 42 V. The switch is controlled by a simple On/Off logic input (non-inverting), and it needs no external Vcc supply: the gate drive is self-powered from the load voltage. Typical Rds(on) is 150 mOhm, which keeps conduction losses manageable at currents up to about 1 A without a heatsink, provided the board has a decent copper pour under the SOT223 tab.

Fault protection that resets itself

This part includes fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping. When a fault trips the switch off, the Auto Restart feature cycles it back on after the fault condition clears — no system reset or watchdog intervention needed. That is useful for driving lamp inrush or motor start surges where a temporary overcurrent is expected, and it saves a firmware recovery routine.

Temperature range and package — fits automotive and industrial boards

The PG-SOT223-4 package (equivalent to TO-261-4) is a standard surface-mount footprint with a large tab for thermal dissipation. On a typical two-layer board, stitching vias from the tab to a ground-plane copper pour is the usual way to keep the junction below 125°C at the full 1.4 A load.

Sourcing and lifecycle

It is ROHS3 compliant and remains a current-production part.

Frequently asked questions

How does BSP76E6433HUMA1 compare to the BTS142DATMA1?

Both are HITFET low-side switches with the same fault protection set (Auto Restart, current limit, over-temp, over-voltage) and the same 42 V load voltage rating. The BTS142DATMA1 has a much lower typical Rds(on) of 23 mOhm and a higher output current rating of 4.6 A, making it the choice for loads above 1.4 A or where conduction loss must be minimised. The BSP76E6433HUMA1 at 150 mOhm / 1.4 A covers smaller relays, solenoids, and indicator lamps where the lower on-resistance is not needed.
