500 mA hold, 1 A trip — the PTC that fits tight spots
The 0ZCJ0050AF2E is a polymeric PTC resettable fuse from Bel Fuse's 0ZCJ series, rated for 500 mA hold current (Ih) and 1 A trip current (It) at 24 V max. The 1206 (3216 Metric) concave package keeps the footprint small — 3.25 mm x 1.65 mm — for dense PCB layouts where a through-hole PTC won't fit. That makes it a candidate for under-hood modules, infotainment power rails, and any 24 V automotive bus that needs resettable overcurrent protection without a fuse replacement visit.
Time to trip is 100 ms at the rated fault current — fast enough to protect a 24 V sensor supply or actuator driver before the downstream regulator overheats. The initial resistance (Ri) is 150 mOhms minimum; after a trip event the post-trip resistance (R1) rises to 750 mOhms max, which means the circuit sees a higher series resistance on restart until the PTC cools and resets. Maximum fault current handling is 100 A at 24 V — the PTC can interrupt a hard short without rupturing, as long as the upstream supply can deliver that current.
Surface-mount 1206 concave package — the concave termination allows solder-joint inspection on the bottom side, which helps in automated optical inspection (AOI) lines. Thickness is 1.20 mm max, so it sits low enough for a 1.6 mm PCB with standard reflow profiles. Available in Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT) for prototype or production quantities.
