Two channels, 12 bits — what that means for the signal chain
The VSP2562PT is a 2-channel analog front end (AFE) that digitises two independent analog inputs to 12-bit resolution. In a system that multiplexes two sensor signals — say, a dual-element photodiode or a pair of current shunts — this AFE handles both paths without an external mux, saving board space and one serial interface. No split supplies, no level translation between the ADC core and the digital interface.
86 mW power budget and thermal design
At 86 mW total power dissipation, the VSP2562PT runs cool enough that the 48-LQFP package needs no heatsinking or forced airflow in most indoor environments. The junction-to-ambient thermal resistance of a standard LQFP-48 is around 60-70 °C/W, so the die temperature stays well below 85 °C even at 50 °C ambient — fine for benchtop instrumentation and industrial sensor modules.
Sourcing and availability
The VSP2562PT is sourced through independent distribution channels.
