System supervisor with dual temperature channels
The TMP512AIRSAT from Texas Instruments is a temperature monitoring system that combines a local sensor with a remote diode-sensing channel, plus a watchdog timer and register-bank topology built around an internal ADC and multiplexer. Local accuracy is ±2.5°C maximum; the remote channel is ±5°C maximum — the wider tolerance on the remote side reflects the external diode's own variation and layout parasitics, so the PCB trace length and routing to the remote transistor matter for keeping the error on the tighter side of the spec.
Bus integration and alarm output
Communicates over a 2-wire I²C/SMBus serial interface — the same bus as most temperature sensors and EEPROMs, so the address pin must be set to avoid collision with other devices on the same line. An output alarm pin is available for overtemperature events, which can be wired directly to a system reset or interrupt without polling the bus.
The part is ROHS3 compliant, so it clears the material-restriction gate for EU and most global markets without a waiver.
