8-bit SAR ADC with 1 MSPS throughput
The Texas Instruments ADS7040IDCUT is an 8-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC that samples at 1 MSPS. It accepts a single-ended input and communicates over an SPI bus, making it a straightforward fit for microcontrollers that lack an integrated ADC or need an extra dedicated conversion channel.
Single-supply range and temperature grade
Both the analog and digital supply rails share the same 1.65 V to 3.6 V range, so the ADC runs off a single supply without needing a separate reference or a higher-voltage analog rail. The 8-VSSOP package (2.30 mm width) keeps the PCB footprint small, which helps when routing the single-ended input close to the sensor without long traces that pick up noise.
