What this high-side switch brings to the board
The STMicroelectronics IPS1025HQ-32 is a single-channel, high-side N-channel power switch in a 48-VFQFN exposed-pad package. The supply range spans 8 V to 60 V, so it works on 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V rails common in factory automation, motor control, and automotive body electronics.
Fault protection set — what trips and what survives
This part packs a full complement of fault protections: fixed current limiting, overload, over-temperature, reverse-current, short-circuit, and UVLO. That means a single device can handle the usual failure modes on a power rail without external clamp or sense circuitry. The scorch mark tells you when something downstream let go — this switch is designed to survive and report it.
The 48-VFQFN exposed-pad package (8x6 mm body per the supplier device package) is surface-mount only.
