Single-channel optocoupler for isolated signal transfer
The Renesas PS2761B-1-V-F3-K-A is a single-channel optocoupler from the NEPOC series, designed for galvanic isolation between a DC input and a transistor output. It provides 3750Vrms isolation voltage, making it suitable for breaking ground loops and protecting low-voltage logic from high-voltage transients in industrial controls, power supplies, and motor drive interfaces. The transistor output can sink up to 40mA and switch up to 70V, covering common logic-level and small-load drive requirements.
The current transfer ratio (CTR) is specified at 200% minimum and 400% maximum when the input diode is driven with 5mA forward current. A CTR of 200% means the output transistor can conduct at least 10mA with 5mA input, providing ample gain margin for degraded LED output over temperature and lifetime. The 300mV maximum Vce saturation at rated current keeps output voltage drop low, preserving headroom in the driven circuit.
Temperature range and package for harsh environments
Rated for operation from -55°C to 110°C, this optocoupler handles cold-start conditions and elevated ambient temperatures found in outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor sensors, and engine-bay electronics. The 4-SMD gull-wing package (4-SOP) is a compact surface-mount footprint suitable for automated assembly. The surface-mount gull-wing leads provide good solder-joint inspection access and moderate thermal stress relief compared to flat-lead packages.
Lifecycle and compliance — active and RoHS3
It is ROHS3 compliant, meeting the latest EU restriction on hazardous substances.
