Dual SP4T mux with 700 MHz bandwidth
The QS4A215Q1G from Renesas is a dual SP4T analog switch — two independent 4:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer circuits in a single 48-pin FSOP package. Each switch selects one of four signal paths to a common output, controlled by a digital address line. With a -3 dB bandwidth of 700 MHz, this part passes high-frequency signals cleanly — think video distribution, RF switching, or fast digital multiplexing in test equipment. The -68 dB crosstalk at 5 MHz means adjacent channels stay isolated; you won't see bleed from one input corrupting another at that frequency.
Switching speed and signal integrity
Switch times are 6 ns max for both turn-on and turn-off — fast enough for high-speed data acquisition or automated test systems where channel-to-channel switching must keep pace with the sample clock. The 1.5 pC charge injection is low enough that switching between channels won't glitch a sampled analog signal on a downstream ADC. On-resistance is 17 ohms max — moderate for signal switching, but the 6 pF source-off capacitance and 14 pF drain-off capacitance set the settling time in high-impedance paths. For a 50-ohm system, the RC time constant is under 1 ns; for a 1 k-ohm source, budget around 14 ns to settle to 0.1%. Leakage current is 10 nA max — negligible for most analog front-ends, but if you're multiplexing a 10 M-ohm sensor, that leakage translates to a 0.1 mV offset error at the ADC input.
The 0.5 mm lead pitch demands careful PCB layout — route the analog traces with controlled impedance if you're pushing the 700 MHz bandwidth, and keep the supply decoupling capacitors within 2 mm of the V+ pin to maintain the crosstalk spec. The supplier device package is 48-QVSOP, which is the same footprint. Supplied in Bulk packaging — not tape-and-reel. For prototype builds or low-volume production this is fine; for high-volume pick-and-place, you'll need to plan for tube or tray feeding, or request a reeled variant if available.
