The Renesas NEPOC PS2565L2-1-A is a single-channel phototransistor optocoupler designed for high-voltage isolation in industrial and power-conversion applications. Its 5000 Vrms isolation rating suits it for safety-barrier separation in motor drives, PLC I/O modules, and AC-mains sensing circuits where reinforced insulation is required. The part accepts both AC and DC input drive, which simplifies designs that must detect zero-crossing or polarity-independent signals from a transformer or AC line.
CTR window and drive margin
With a current transfer ratio spanning 80% to 400% at 5 mA forward current, the PS2565L2-1-A provides a wide operating window for the LED drive circuit. A minimum CTR of 80% means the output transistor can saturate with as little as 5 mA input, while the 400% ceiling allows the designer to reduce LED current for lower power consumption without losing logic-level output. The 300 mV maximum Vce saturation ensures clean logic-low levels when the output is pulled up through a load resistor.
Switching speed and output ratings
The output transistor is rated for 80 V collector-emitter and 50 mA continuous current, which covers most PLC input modules and low-power DC loads directly.
