Single-channel 5 kV opto for industrial isolation
The Renesas NEPOC PS2561D-1Y-A is a single-channel, DC-input, transistor-output optoisolator in a 4-DIP through-hole package. Its 5000Vrms isolation rating suits it for industrial power supplies, motor drives, and PLC I/O modules where galvanic separation between control and high-voltage domains is required.
Current transfer ratio spans 50% to 400% at 5 mA forward current. That spread means the same part can drive a logic gate at the high end or a low-power relay at the low end, but the design must accommodate the full range — the feedback resistor or pull-up value needs to work across the min/max gain. Rise and fall times are 3 µs and 5 µs typical, fast enough for 10 kHz to 50 kHz switching signals but not for high-speed serial isolation.
Temperature range and output drive
Rated -55°C to 110°C operating, so it handles cold-start industrial enclosures and warm cabinet interiors without derating.
Lifecycle and compliance
ROHS3 compliant, so no EU regulatory barrier for new designs. The NEPOC series is a mature, well-established opto family with broad distribution coverage.
