Rated for 0°C to 70°C ambient, this controller is intended for commercial indoor equipment — office power supplies, telecom line cards in climate-controlled racks, and consumer electronics. It is not specified for industrial or automotive environments where the ambient regularly exceeds 70°C or dips below freezing.
600 kHz switching — what it means for the power stage
The 600 kHz switching frequency is a middle ground: it keeps the inductor and output capacitor physically smaller than a 100 kHz design, without the switching losses and layout sensitivity of a 1 MHz+ part. The LC filter corner and ripple current should be calculated at this frequency. The controller does not support clock synchronization, so multiple units on the same board will beat against each other — plan for input filtering or spread-spectrum if beat frequencies are a concern.
