Active reference for low-power precision rails
The ISL21080CIH315Z-TK is a series voltage reference from Renesas' FGA™ family, delivering a fixed 1.5 V output with ±0.5% initial accuracy.
The 7 mA output current limits how many downstream ADC reference inputs or op-amp bias networks this single device can serve. If your BOM shows more than a handful of loads, budget a buffer or a second reference rather than pushing the output into dropout. For a 16-bit ADC with a 1.5 V reference, 30 µVp-p corresponds to roughly 1.3 LSBs of peak-to-peak noise — acceptable for most industrial measurements but worth checking against your system's noise budget. If your application requires tighter than 0.1% total accuracy across temperature, consider a lower-drift reference or a calibration step.
Package and rework — SOT-23-3 on the bench
Housed in a standard SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3 / SC-59) package, the part is straightforward to hand-solder or rework with hot air. The three-pin layout has a clear orientation mark — pin 1 is the tab side — so you won't struggle to get it back on the board after a reflow cycle.
Supply voltage range and compliance
No need for an extra pre-regulator in most designs. Renesas lists the ISL21080CIH315Z-TK as Active in production and ROHS3 compliant.
