A compact dual op-amp for power-sensitive signal chains
The Renesas EL5220TIYZ is a dual voltage-feedback operational amplifier in an 8-MSOP package, sized for dense PCB layouts where board area is at a premium. Each channel draws 550µA supply current, making this part a fit for battery-operated instrumentation, portable medical devices, or multichannel sensor conditioning where the power budget is tight. The rail-to-rail output stage swings close to the supply rails, preserving dynamic range in low-voltage systems running from 4.5 V up to 19 V. With a 12 MHz -3dB bandwidth and 12V/µs slew rate, it handles video-rate signals and fast ADC input buffers without excessive settling tails.
Lifecycle and compliance — no end-of-life surprise
The EL5220TIYZ carries an Active lifecycle status, meaning Renesas continues to manufacture and support the part for new designs. It is ROHS3 compliant, which satisfies the material restriction requirements for most commercial and industrial markets. No last-time-buy windows or obsolescence notices are in effect. For volume commitments or long-term BOM stability, the part can be specified into production without an imminent replacement risk.
Mounting and thermal — 8-MSOP footprint
The 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm width, 0.118" pitch) is a standard surface-mount footprint compatible with common 8-pin MSOP land patterns. The operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C covers industrial and outdoor telecom enclosures. No heatsinking is required at the 550µA per-channel supply current; self-heating is negligible even when driving the full 65 mA output current into a load.
