Audio codec for portable and embedded audio
The DA7212-01UM2 is a low-power audio codec from Renesas, built around a Sigma-Delta architecture with 2 ADCs and 2 DACs. It delivers a typical SNR of 90 dB on the ADC path and 100 dB on the DAC path — numbers that put it in the range for consumer headset, voice, and portable speaker designs where dynamic range matters.
The analog supply runs from 1.7 V to 2.5 V; the digital supply is a separate 1.6 V to 3.6 V rail.
WLCSP package — layout notes
The part comes in a 34-UFBGA, WLCSP (wafer-level chip-scale package) with a supplier device package of 34-CSP measuring 4.5x1.66 mm. The 0.50 mm ball pitch typical of this package class demands a controlled-impedance PCB stack-up and careful decoupling placement — a 4-layer board is the practical minimum for fan-out.
