Quad-frequency clock oscillator — one device, four output rates
The Renesas 8N4Q001FG-1078CDI is a quad-frequency clock oscillator from the FemtoClock® NG family. It delivers a choice of 100 MHz, 200 MHz, 300 MHz, or 400 MHz from a single device, selected via the frequency-control pins. Housed in a 10-CLCC (7x5 mm) ceramic package, it is surface-mount and specified across the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The supply rail is 2.375 V to 2.625 V, drawing 155 mA typical.
Frequency agility without a PLL programming burden
Unlike a field-programmable PLL or VCXO that requires I²C/SPI configuration at power-up, this oscillator presents four pre-configured frequencies selected by digital logic levels.
Active, ROHS3, no end-of-life concern
It is ROHS3 compliant. For a production BOM that needs a stable clock source across multiple product generations, this part does not introduce obsolescence risk today.
Mounting and handling notes
The 10-CLCC (7x5 mm) ceramic package is surface-mount. The ceramic body is hermetic, suited for environments where moisture sensitivity is a concern.
