PLL synthesizer with spread spectrum in an 8-SOIC
The 251PMLF is a single-circuit PLL-based clock synthesizer from Renesas' VersaClock® family. It accepts a clock or crystal input and produces a CMOS output up to 200 MHz. The integrated spread-spectrum modulation helps reduce peak EMI emissions at the board level.
Supply rail and temperature envelope
The part operates from a 3.15V to 3.45V supply — that's a tight 300 mV window, so the 3.3V rail feeding it needs good regulation and low ripple. The commercial temperature grade (0°C to 70°C) restricts it to indoor, non-condensing environments; it's not rated for industrial enclosures or automotive under-hood use.
Package and footprint
Housed in an 8-pin SOIC with 0.154-inch body width (3.90 mm), surface-mount on a standard SOIC-8 footprint. The 1:1 input-to-output ratio means a single clock input drives one clock output — no fanout or multiple synthesised outputs from one package.
