LONWORKS node controller for building and industrial networks
The 14235R-500 is a LONWORKS Smart Transceiver built around a Neuron core — it handles both the application logic and the LonTalk protocol stack on-chip, so a single IC manages network communication and local I/O in a building-automation or industrial-control node. With 64K x 8 of RAM and external program memory, this part runs the transceiver firmware and application code from off-chip flash or ROM, keeping the die cost down while the system designer sizes the memory to the job.
Parametric fit for a control-node BOM
Twelve general-purpose I/O lines handle digital sensors, actuators, or a serial interface — enough for a typical LONWORKS node reading a temperature sensor and driving a relay or valve. Industrial temperature grade (-40°C to 85°C) covers rooftop HVAC controllers, plant-floor sensor nodes, and outdoor lighting cabinets — the junction temperature stays inside the safe operating area even with the transceiver active in a sealed enclosure.
Active production, RoHS compliant
The LONWORKS series continues to ship for installed building-automation and industrial networks that require backward-compatible replacements. RoHS compliant per the manufacturer's declaration — no lead, mercury, cadmium, or restricted phthalates in the package or plating.
