60,000 gates in a 100-TQFP
This ProASIC3 FPGA packs 60,000 gates and 71 I/O into a 100-TQFP package (14x14 mm body, VQFP). The 1.425 V to 1.575 V core supply is a single narrow rail — your regulator choice is straightforward, but the tolerance means you cannot share a 1.8 V or 1.5 V bus without a local LDO. The 71 I/O count suits medium-density glue logic, sensor aggregation, or display control where a larger BGA would waste board area.
18,432 bits of RAM — plan your block usage
Total RAM bits come to 18,432, distributed across the ProASIC3 fabric as small dual-port blocks. That is enough for a few small FIFOs or register files, but not for a frame buffer or large packet queue. If your design needs more than a couple of kilobytes of on-chip memory, step up to the A3P125 sibling which doubles the RAM to 36,864 bits.
