Package and board-fit for the 100-VQFP
The A3P060-VQG100I is a ProASIC3 FPGA in a 100-VQFP package (14x14 mm body), with 71 user I/O brought out to the perimeter. The 0.5 mm pitch demands a controlled-impedance breakout on a 4-layer board if the I/O toggle rate pushes past 50 MHz; a 2-layer board can route the outer rows but the inner pads require via-in-pad or dogbone fan-out.
Logic fabric and memory for glue-logic integration
60,000 system gates and 18,432 bits of embedded RAM give this device enough fabric to absorb a handful of 8-bit state machines, a SPI/I2C bridge, and a small FIFO without needing external SRAM. The 1.425 V to 1.575 V core supply is a single narrow rail — the regulator must hold within 75 mV of the nominal 1.5 V setpoint across load steps, or the internal PLLs (if used) risk jitter.
Temperature grade and deployment envelope
The device can sit in an outdoor telecom cabinet at 85°C ambient with a 15°C junction rise from self-heating and still stay inside the spec. No AEC-Q100 grade is listed, so this is not qualified for under-hood automotive use without additional screening.
