ORCA2 family — gate count and memory headroom
The OR2C15A4M84-D is a Lattice Semiconductor ORCA™2-series FPGA with 44,200 gates and 1,600 logic elements, supported by 25,600 bits of on-chip block RAM. The 64 user I/O provide enough connectivity for glue-logic consolidation or a small state-machine core without external CPLD support. Operating from a 4.75 V supply rail over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, this part fits indoor, bench-top, or controlled-environment equipment where extended-temperature qualification is not required.
Package and board-fit considerations
Supplied in Bulk format and specified for Surface Mount assembly, the 84-pin package uses a pitch that routes comfortably on a two-layer board for most designs. The 64 I/O count and 4.75 V supply rail should be cross-checked against the target PCB's voltage domain — no on-chip regulator drops the core to a lower rail.
Cross-reference with MachXO2 peers
The MachXO2 family (LCMXO2-1200HC-4TG100C, LCMXO2-1200HC-5TG100C, LCMXO2-640HC-4TG100C) offers a different architecture with 2.375 V core supply, up to 79 I/O, and up to 65,536 RAM bits. The OR2C15A4M84-D is not pin-compatible — the package and footprint differ — so a board spin would be required to substitute. The ORCA2 series targets a different power rail and logic density sweet spot.
