Logic density and I/O count for the BOM
The EP2C5Q208C7N packs 4608 logic elements in 288 LABs/CLBs — enough for glue logic, a small soft-core processor, or a modest state machine without resorting to a larger device. 142 user I/O are available in the 208-BFQFP package, which means about two-thirds of the pins are usable signals. That is a high I/O-to-pin ratio for a 208-pin QFP, useful for parallel buses or many discrete sensors. On-chip block RAM totals 119808 bits — enough for a 16 KB FIFO or a small lookup table without external SRAM.
The 208-BFQFP (PQFP) package has a 28x28 mm body with 0.5 mm pitch leads. It is a surface-mount package that reflows with standard lead-free profiles and does not require a BGA rework station. Core supply is 1.15V to 1.25V — a 1.2V rail is typical. The I/O banks run from the same supply as the external interface, so the board needs at least one dedicated regulator for the core. Operating temperature is 0°C to 85°C (TJ) — commercial grade. Suitable for indoor equipment, lab instrumentation, and telecom racks that stay above freezing.
