28-SOIC current source for solenoid and valve control
The TLE72422GXUMA2 is a low-side current source IC from Infineon, delivering a regulated 30 mA output across a 5.5 V to 42 V input range. The 28-SOIC (PG-DSO-28) wide-body package integrates the current regulation loop, so the external BOM stays at a sense resistor and the load solenoid or valve — no separate op-amp or comparator needed.
Input range and thermal envelope
The 5.5 V to 42 V input span covers both 12 V and 24 V automotive rails with margin for load-dump transients. The 30 mA regulated output is set by an external resistor; the low-side sensing method means the load connects between the supply and the IC's drain pin, with the current returning through the sense resistor to ground.
