Programmable features include auto retry, current limit, fault timeout, latched fault, overvoltage protection (OVP), slew rate control, and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). This set allows the designer to tailor the startup ramp, fault response, and voltage thresholds to the specific load capacitance and supply characteristics of the target backplane. The controller does not integrate an internal switch — it drives an external N-channel MOSFET. The Rds(on) of that external FET at operating junction temperature, not the 25°C headline, sets the conduction loss and must stay inside the SOA during the inrush event.
