Dual-axis ±18g analog accelerometer for industrial vibration and tilt sensing
The AD22037Z is a dual-axis (X, Y) analog-output accelerometer from the iMEMS® series, sensing ±18g with a fixed sensitivity of 100 mV/g. The 0.5 Hz to 2.5 kHz adjustable bandwidth makes it suitable for capturing both slow tilt changes and higher-frequency vibration signatures in machinery monitoring or structural health applications. The analog voltage output interfaces directly with an ADC without requiring a digital protocol decoder.
Bandwidth selection and signal chain fit
The adjustable bandwidth feature lets you set the low-pass corner between 0.5 Hz and 2.5 kHz via an external capacitor. For a 100 Hz vibration analysis on a motor bearing, you would roll off above 1 kHz to reject higher-order noise; for a tilt sensor sampling at 10 Hz, a 5 Hz corner cleans up the output without losing the DC gravity vector. At 100 mV/g, a ±18g full-scale swing produces a ±1.8 V differential around the zero-g offset — matching the input range of a 3.3 V ADC with a 2.5 V reference without external gain staging. The 3V to 6V supply range also allows direct connection to a 5 V legacy data-acquisition system.
Package, mounting, and compliance
The 8-CLCC package (5x5 mm body) is a ceramic leadless chip carrier with gold-plated pads, designed for surface-mount reflow assembly. The hermetic seal protects the MEMS element from moisture and particulate contamination, which is critical for long-term reliability in condensing or dusty environments. Analog Devices lists the AD22037Z as Active product status and ROHS3 compliant.
