The ADT7310TRZ-REEL7 is a digital local temperature sensor from Analog Devices that delivers ±0.44°C typical accuracy across its entire -55°C to +150°C sensing range, with a maximum error of ±1°C guaranteed. This precision means the sensor can reliably track temperature in applications from cold-chain storage to engine-bay monitoring without requiring per-unit calibration at the board level. Communication is handled over a standard SPI interface, outputting 15-bit temperature data directly to a host microcontroller or FPGA. The digital output eliminates the noise susceptibility and ADC overhead of analog thermistors, making it a drop-in fit for systems already using a serial peripheral bus.
One-Shot, shutdown mode, and programmable limit for system-level control
The sensor includes a One-Shot mode that performs a single temperature conversion and returns to shutdown, drawing minimal current between readings — useful for battery-powered IoT nodes that wake periodically to log temperature. The programmable limit and output switch let the part assert an interrupt pin when the temperature crosses a threshold, offloading the host from continuous polling. The wide operating range means the sensor can share a supply rail with the host MCU without an extra regulator.
Active production, ROHS3 compliant, SOIC-8 package
The Tape & Reel packaging (REEL7 suffix) is suited for automated pick-and-place assembly in volume production.
