12-bit configurable ADC/DAC with I²C control
The AD5593RBCPZ-RL7 is an 8-channel, 12-bit configurable ADC/DAC from Analog Devices, controlled over an I²C interface. Each of the eight channels can be independently programmed as an analog-to-digital converter input, a digital-to-analog converter output, or a general-purpose digital I/O pin, giving a single-chip mixed-signal front-end for systems that need to read sensors and drive actuators on the same bus. The 12-bit resolution delivers 4096 counts across the selected reference range — adequate for monitoring battery voltage, potentiometer feedback, or 4-20 mA loop signals where 0.1 % of span is the target. The I²C interface runs at standard and fast-mode rates, keeping the pin count low on space-constrained boards.
The analog and digital supplies share a common pin, simplifying the power routing — one decoupling cap at the pin handles the local bypass. At the high end, the internal reference drift and the ADC's offset error will shift more than at 25°C — stack the error budget if the measurement needs to hold 0.5 % accuracy across the full temperature swing.
Package and board-fit for the 16-LFCSP
Supplied in a 16-lead LFCSP-WQ (3 mm × 3 mm) package with an exposed paddle. The 0.5 mm pitch requires a soldermask-defined land pattern; a standard reflow profile for lead-free solder works with the ROHS3-compliant finish. The -RL7 suffix indicates Tape & Reel packaging (7-inch reel), suited for automated pick-and-place assembly. Cut Tape quantities are also available for prototype or low-volume builds.
