Active 8-bit bus transceiver — 74HCT family, 5 V supply rail
The SN74HCT245PWR: The 6 mA output drive current (both high and low) is the standard 74HCT drive level — sufficient for driving a single TTL load or a short PCB trace, but not a long backplane or a high-capacitance bus without a buffer.
20-TSSOP package — surface-mount board integration
The 0.65 mm pin pitch of the TSSOP-20 package requires careful PCB layout for fan-out, especially on two-layer boards. The 3-state outputs allow multiple transceivers to share a data bus without contention.
It is not AEC-Q100 qualified, so it is not specified for automotive under-hood or cabin applications without additional qualification data. The 74HCT family input thresholds are TTL-compatible, making this part a direct drop-in for 5 V TTL bus interfaces.
