Quad AND gate for automotive and industrial logic
It integrates four independent AND gates in a single 14-SOIC package, each with two inputs and a totem-pole output capable of sourcing or sinking 8 mA. The device operates across a wide supply range of 2V to 5.5V, making it suitable for mixed-voltage designs where a single part bridges 3.3V and 5V logic domains.
The 2V to 5.5V supply range means this gate can interface directly with both 3.3V microcontrollers and 5V sensors or legacy peripherals without a separate level translator — a real BOM simplification when the board carries mixed-voltage rails. Maximum quiescent current of 2 µA keeps the part suited for always-on modules like body controllers or keyless-entry receivers where every microamp counts. The 7.9 ns propagation delay at 5V and 50 pF load is fast enough for CAN, LIN, and most sensor interfaces running below 10 MHz; for higher-speed serial buses like SPI at 20 MHz or above, you would want a 74LVC or 74AUC family part with sub-5 ns delays.
The 0.154-inch (3.90 mm) width fits common 14-pin SOIC land patterns; no tombstoning risk with proper stencil aperture for the 1.27 mm pitch.
For dual-sourcing flexibility, the SN74LV08ADR (74LV family) offers a similar quad AND gate with 12 mA output drive and the same 14-SOIC footprint, though it lacks the AEC-Q100 automotive qualification.
