Active production, one compliance catch
The LM76CHM-5: If your assembly line or end-market requires RoHS, this part will not pass incoming inspection.
13-bit local sensing with programmable limits
The LM76CHM-5 is a digital local temperature sensor from TI, offering 13-bit resolution and communicating over a 2-wire I²C/SMBus serial interface. Accuracy is rated ±0.5°C typical and ±1°C maximum, tested at 25°C over a -10°C to 45°C window — the tighter band covers most indoor and equipment-ambient monitoring points. On-chip features include an output switch, programmable limit comparator, and shutdown mode — the limit can be set to assert an interrupt or flag when the temperature crosses a threshold, useful for thermal-warning or fan-control loops without polling the bus continuously.
Supply and temperature envelope
Operating temperature spans -20°C to 85°C, matching the local sensing range. This covers most commercial and industrial indoor environments but does not reach extended industrial or automotive grades. Packaged in an 8-SOIC (0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm) surface-mount package, supplied in Bulk — no reel or tape-and-reel, so plan for tube or tray handling at the pick-and-place.
