Camera flash boost driver with I²C dimming
It integrates two outputs capable of delivering 600 mA per channel during flash, controlled via an I²C interface for precise dimming and timing. The 2 MHz switching frequency allows the use of small external inductors and capacitors, saving board space in compact camera modules.
Supply range and thermal limits
The -30°C to 85°C ambient temperature range covers consumer and industrial handheld devices, though the upper end may be tight for enclosed designs with high ambient heat — watch the thermal derating if the flash fires repeatedly in a warm chassis.
Housed in a 16-bump DSBGA package, the LM3554TMX/NOPB requires a well-controlled SMT process and X-ray inspection for solder joint verification.
